Campers are encouraged to register for both weeks for the most immersive experience. However, since we understand summer schedules may be prohibitive, we welcome those who would like to join just one week.

Description

This is Week 1 of a two-week camp. Participants are encouraged to join us for both weeks for the most immersive experience, but we welcome those who are only available for one or the other.

Embark on an unforgettable journey into the heart of sustainable living with our Homesteading Camp designed exclusively for young pioneers aged 12+! This two-week escapade promises a hands-on experience in the art and science of homesteading.

During this program, we'll have the opportunity to:

  • Engage with local farmers and delve into the fascinating world of local food production
  • Get your hands dirty and cultivate a deeper connection with the earth
  • Capture the essence of the season by preserving fruits and vegetables, ensuring a taste of summer all year round
  • Unleash your inner alchemist by creating your own batch of handcrafted soap
  • Engage in the ancient art of cheese making, from curdling to molding
  • Step into the world of beekeeping, learn the vital role of bees in pollination, and gain a deep appreciation for these incredible pollinators
  • Uncover the secrets of mushroom cultivation and witness the exciting world of fungi come to life
  • Dive into the world of marketing and entrepreneurship, learning how to brand and sell small farm products
